About us

ASRONIDE is a local small scale seed grower in Atlantic Canada dedicated to preserving genetic heritage of produce, improving food security and promoting sustainable and regenerative agriculture. With a focus on production and selection of high-quality, locally-adapted heirloom seeds, our goal is to empower Canadian agriculture and home gardeners to cultivate resilient, biodiverse crops that thrive so that both people and plants in this region can prosper.

Our Region

Located on the Eastern coast of Canada, Newfoundland boasts a diverse all season climate influenced by maritime surroundings. Despite its challenging weather, the mystical allure of its foggy coastlines, the lush green landscapes of endless boreal forests and its majestic mountains and fjords make this island a captivating natural paradise.

However, growing in this region is difficult with the acidic soils, cool temperatures and heavy rainfall. This is why regionally adapted seeds are important to Atlantic agriculture. We can carefully select plant characteristics and seeds that not only survive but thrive in these conditions.

Our mission is to support growers with sustainable agriculture and agroecology by providing resilient and well-adapted seed within the region.

Sustainable Stewardship

Humans are an integral part of the ecosystem, intricately connected to the natural world that sustains life. We bear a profound responsibility to nurture and protect the delicate balance of nature. Plants, in particular, provide us with essential resources such as oxygen, food, and medicine, while supporting countless other species.

By caring for the environment and preserving plant life, we honor our role within the ecosystem and ensure a thriving, harmonious planet for future generations.

Our vision is to cultivate stewardship among everyday individuals.

Our Guiding Purpose

I had always enjoyed filling my home and spaces in my life with green. I love discovering new plants and watching the process of growth for each seed as I committed myself to be it's caretaker.

After years in the corporate world, I made the decision to trade boardrooms for blooms and deadlines for dew-kissed mornings. Each seed I sow and every garden I cultivate reflect my own renewal, offering me peace, purpose, and a deeper appreciation for slowing down. This journey has been one of rediscovery, where the rhythm of nature has gently taught me the truest lessons of growth and balance.

My goal is to inspire others with the possibilities of committing their time to themselves and the world around them and give them the potential to succeed in all things good and green by sharing my knowledge throughout this adventure.
